Words of the World Editions LLC is dedicated to promoting the learning of foreign languages through fiction, culture, and the study of language in context.

This publishing house was initially founded to enable its creator, Delphine M., to publish the bilingual children’s books she has authored, as well as the pedagogical tools she has designed for the teaching and learning of French as a Foreign Language (FLE).

A French language teacher who has taught in both France and the United States, Delphine M. brings together literary creation, pedagogy, and reflective practice on language learning, with a particular focus on studying language in context through the use of authentic materials.

The two collections she has developed are presented in detail on this blog: Four series of bilingual children’s books and Pedagogical tools dedicated to the teaching, learning, and analysis of French in context, designed in accordance with ACTFL standards.

In the short term, her goal is to connect with established publishing houses, online learning platforms, and educational organizations to find support for the publication and dissemination of her work. These collaborations may take the form of distribution support, co-publishing projects, or the development of new programs and educational content.

In the medium and long term, Delphine aims to welcome creators from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, enrich the existing series and develop new ones, as well as publish pedagogical tools and curricula in various foreign languages, grounded in meaningful cultural and educational contexts.

Finally, while Delphine is not a professional illustrator, she illustrated all completed albums in the four bilingual children’s book series—two independently and two through a creative process supported by artificial intelligence. She nevertheless remains open to adapting, reworking, or entirely replacing the existing illustrations should professional illustrators wish to contribute to and enrich the visual and artistic dimension of her children’s book collection.

Founder, Author & Editorial Vision

Words of the World Editions LLC est dédiée à la promotion de l’apprentissage des langues étrangères à travers la fiction, la culture et l’étude de la langue en contexte.

Cette maison d’édition a d’abord été fondée pour permettre à sa créatrice, Delphine M., de publier les livres bilingues pour enfants dont elle est l’auteure, ainsi que les outils pédagogiques qu’elle a conçus pour l’enseignement et l’apprentissage du français langue étrangère (FLE).

Enseignante de français ayant exercé en France et aux États-Unis, Delphine M. allie création littéraire, pédagogie et réflexion didactique autour de l’apprentissage des langues, en mettant l’accent sur l’étude de la langue en contexte à partir de documents authentiques.

Les deux collections qu’elle a développées sont présentées en détail dans ce blog : Quatre séries de livres bilingues pour enfants, et des outils pédagogiques dédiés à l’enseignement, à l’apprentissage et à l’analyse du français en contexte, conçus selon les standards de l’ACTFL

À court terme, son objectif est d’entrer en contact avec des maisons d’édition établies, des plateformes d’apprentissage en ligne et des organisations éducatives, afin de trouver des partenaires pour soutenir la publication et la diffusion de son travail. Ces collaborations peuvent prendre la forme d’un accompagnement éditorial, de coéditions, ou encore de la conception de nouveaux programmes et contenus pédagogiques.

À moyen et long terme, Delphine souhaite ouvrir cet espace éditorial à des créateurs travaillant dans d’autres langues, enrichir les séries existantes et développer de nouvelles collections, ainsi que des outils pédagogiques et des curricula en langues étrangères, ancrés dans des contextes culturels et éducatifs porteurs de sens.

Enfin, si Delphine n’est pas illustratrice de formation, elle a illustré tous les albums des quatre séries de livres bilingues pour enfants – deux de manière indépendante et deux autres grâce à un processus créatif assisté par l'intelligence artificielle. Elle reste néanmoins ouverte à l'idée d'adapter, de retravailler, voire de remplacer entièrement les illustrations existantes si des illustrateurs professionnels souhaitent contribuer à enrichir la dimension visuelle et artistique de sa collection de livres pour enfants.

Lilou (ages 3–5)

Introducing the foundations of language while supporting young children’s growth, Lilou follows the daily life of a blue cat.
Each album is offered in two separate language editions: the child’s maternal language and a target language. Knowing the story in their first language helps young readers remain focused, confident, and curious when encountering it in a foreign or second language.
Twenty-four albums are completed in French, English, and Spanish. Each album focuses on a specific linguistic structure.
Written and illustrated by the author. Artificial intelligence tools were used to facilitate the creation of the English and Spanish versions.

The collection of bilingual children's books from Words of the World Editions LLC aims to promote foreign language learning in the United States through fiction. Together, the collection forms a coherent multilingual universe, where storytelling, imagination, and language discovery come together harmoniously. Each series can stand alone or be combined in flexible bilingual and multilingual formats, offering readers and families a rich, immersive experience from early childhood through pre-teens.

Lilou (ages 3–5 ans)

Destinée à poser les bases du langage tout en accompagnant le développement des jeunes enfants, la série Lilou suit le quotidien d’un chat bleu.
Chaque album est proposé en deux éditions linguistiques distinctes : la langue maternelle de l’enfant et une langue cible. Le fait de connaître l’histoire dans la langue maternelle permet à l’enfant de rester concentré, en confiance et curieux lorsqu’il découvre la même histoire en langue étrangère ou seconde.
Vingt-quatre albums sont finalisés. Chaque album est construit autour d’une structure linguistique spécifique.
Textes et illustrations réalisés par l’autrice. Des outils d’IA ont été utilisés pour accompagner les versions anglaise et espagnole.

Bilingual Children's books

Bergamot & Cardamom (5–8)

An invitation to travel—because learning a language is already a journey.
Bergamot and Cardamom are two dolls that their owner forgot before going on vacation. They decide to travel on their own, beginning with Paris, and send postcards to Emeline at each step of their journey. The main narrative is written in the maternal language, while the postcards are written in the target language, allowing the two languages to alternate naturally.
The first album is completed; three additional albums are written and awaiting illustration.
Written and illustrated by the author. AI tools were used to assist with translations and to help create smoother and more visually consistent illustrations.

Bergamote & Cardamome (5–8 ans)

Une invitation au voyage, car apprendre une langue est déjà un voyage en soi.
Bergamote et Cardamome sont deux poupées oubliées par leur propriétaire avant son départ en vacances. Elles décident alors de voyager seules et commencent par Paris, envoyant des cartes postales à Émeline à chaque étape de leur parcours. Le récit principal est écrit en langue maternelle, tandis que les cartes postales sont rédigées dans la langue cible, permettant une alternance naturelle des langues.
Le premier album est finalisé ; trois autres albums sont écrits et en attente d’illustration.
Textes et illustrations réalisés par l’autrice. Des outils d’IA ont été utilisés pour les traductions et pour harmoniser et rendre plus cohérentes certaines illustrations.

Zéline’s Adventures (ages 8–10)

An inner journey helping Zéline and her friends grow and discover themselves.
This limited series of five books is a complete fictional work offered in two languages. At this stage, respecting the child’s reading level in their maternal language is essential to foster a love of reading. Each book includes a summary in the target language to encourage continued contact with the foreign or second language.
All five books in the series are completed in English and French.
Written by the author. Illustrations and translations were created with the support of AI tools.

Zéline’s Adventures (ages 8–10ans)

Un voyage intérieur qui aide Zéline et ses amis à grandir et à mieux se découvrir.
Cette série limitée de cinq livres est une œuvre de fiction proposée en deux langues. À cet âge, il est essentiel de respecter le niveau de lecture en langue maternelle afin de préserver le plaisir de lire. Pour maintenir le lien avec une langue seconde ou étrangère, chaque livre propose un résumé dans la langue cible, encourageant ainsi une lecture progressive dans cette langue.
Les cinq livres de la série sont finalisés.

A Strange Gift (ages 10+)

A fantasy series in which the heroes travel through time and artworks thanks to a mysterious gift.
Each chapter combines a fiction section written in the maternal language with a comics section written in the target language, supporting comprehension while gradually increasing exposure to the foreign or second language.

A Strange Gift (ages 10+)

Une série de fantasy dans laquelle les héros voyagent à travers le temps et les œuvres d’art grâce à un mystérieux don.
Chaque chapitre alterne une partie narrative en langue maternelle et une partie en bande dessinée dans la langue cible, favorisant la compréhension et l’exposition progressive à la langue étrangère ou seconde.
Le premier album est finalisé ; le second est actuellement en cours d’écriture.

Words of the World Editions LLC is open to creative collaborations.
The author is not an illustrator and remains open to revising or rethinking the visual style of her books. For the subsequent books in the Lilou and Bergamote & Cardamome series, collaboration with another author — from a language other than French — is also welcome to enrich and expand the collections.

Furthermore, the publishing house is open to collaborations with authors working in languages other than French and English to broaden the linguistic and cultural perspectives within its collections.

This collection brings together curriculum-driven pedagogical tools designed to support the teaching, learning, and analysis of French as a foreign language. Grounded in cultural, artistic, linguistic, and digital contexts, it is intended for high school students, young adults, and adult learners, whether used in the classroom, within structured programs, or for independent study.

Cette collection rassemble des outils pédagogiques pensés dans une logique de conception de curriculum, afin de soutenir l’enseignement, l’apprentissage et l’analyse du français langue étrangère. Ancrée dans des contextes culturels, artistiques, linguistiques et numériques, elle s’adresse aux lycéens, aux jeunes adultes et aux adultes, en classe, dans des parcours structurés ou en autonomie.

Une vie parisienne

A contemporary fiction structured into 8 lessons, Une vie parisienne allows learners to study French through the everyday life of a character living in Paris. The narrative supports the observation of language, vocabulary, and grammatical structures (B1–B2 level). It is also designed as a course for French as a Foreign Language teachers to help students prepare for the listening and reading comprehension components of the DELF B1 and B2 exams, levels required for non-French speakers to pursue higher education in France.
